Welcome to
Fox Tail Brewing
Adventures in home brewing
Sparked from a true passion for the art of brewing, Fox Tail Brewing is a passionate hobby project!
It all started during Covid! I needed something to concentrate on to hide away from what was happening in the outside world.
So I started to read about brewing. The grist, the hops, the yeast and even down to the water profile, I found the entire topic fascinating. Who’d have thought that so much went into a pint of beer!
I invested in the fantastic MiniBrew system which I can’t praise enough. It’s a great product and allows you to brew fresh and clean beer whilst learning the steps!
Now that I’m more familiar with the process I have recently bought the Grainfather G30v3 with two conical fermenters and the GC2 Glycol Chiller.

Why Fox Tail Brewing?
It's pretty simple to be honest.
When you look at a beer you have that lovely orange colour with white foamy head....when you look at a fox's brush, you have that lovely orange colour with white fluffy tip.

It's obvious really!
Our Beers
The below represents a small collection of some of the beers that I've brewed along the way
Fox’s Brush
5.4%
By far my favourite beer to make. a 5.4% hazy IPA made with Mosiac, Citra and El Dorado hops.

This is a 'traditional' Hazy IPA that has plenty of fruity flavours throughout.

This is my go to brew, it's just so so good.
Golden Fox
4.1%
This is a traditional English Golden Ale. Coming in at 4.1% a really nice easy drinking beer.

This is a beer that is 100% best served chilled.
Melanistic Fox
4.5%
This is a surprise package of a beer. Very dark and VERY flavoursome!

These never last long when it's brewed, but if you can resist, it tastes even better if you let it age for a month!!
Summer Fox
3.4%
My first lower alcohol brew. Coming in at around 3.4%, makes it the ideal summer BBQ session ale!

Made with Mociac and Mandarina hops it has a slight orange flavour to it.
Foxy Moves
4.6%
This is an American IPA is brewed using chinook and mosiac hops, partner those with Melanoiden Malt, Pilsner Malt and Maris Otter Pale Ale malt and you have yourself a VERY nice American IPA
Cherry Beer
6%
No wacky fox related name for this beer, as this one one of the first beers that I every brewed. Experimenting with cherry powder in the mash was a fun and colourful thing to do.

This beer has some nice sharp cherry flavouring which comes through at the tail end of drinking.

Made mostly with pilsner malt and some citra hops to give it some extra fruity flavours.
My Breweries
I started with the MiniBrew system and brewed there for a year or so, I then moved to a larger brewery by buying the Grainfather G30, 2 fermenters and a glycol chiller.
Astonishingly clever machine that turns fresh ingredients into chilled consistently fresh craft beers!
Merch
Totally not for sale, but a very fun part of the home brewing hobby, designing your brand and putting some merch together.
T-Shirt
I love wearing this shirt to be honest, it's printed on the front and the back.
Like I said, it's only for fun.
